As a new member of the Fowler Rotary Club, in Rotary International and District 6540, it will be helpful if you know some to the principles by which Rotary functions.  (Click on video above.)

Your club as well as those throughout the world is the cornerstone of Rotary, where the most meaningful work is carried out.  All effective clubs are responsible for four key elements:

  • Sustaining or increasing membership
  • Participating in service projects
  • Supporting The Rotary Foundation
  • Developing leaders capable of serving beyond the club level
What, as a member of your club, you get out of being a member depends largely on what you put into it.  Membership requirements are designed to help you participate in and enjoy the membership experience.  Attending weekly meetings allows you to enjoy the club's fellowship, get enriched by associating with community professionals and business leaders.  If you cannot make your regularly scheduled meeting you are encouraged to expand your Rotary horizons by attending another club's meeting for a make-up.

By living the object of Rotary we encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

  • The development of acquaintances as an opportunity for service
  • Maintain high ethical standards in business and professions
  • Apply the ideal of service personally, in your businesses and in your community life
  • Advance international understanding, goodwill, and peace through world fellowship

Above all, Rotary exemplifies itself with the four way test in things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Welcome to the largest service organization in the world and to the our piece of that world - Fowler Rotary Club and District 6540.  Enjoy and have fun in your new Rotary life.
